#FridayPhrases (#59)

Here we are again with another FridayPhrases post. This is a weekly microfiction event of Twitter. Check the link for more information. Or ask, I don’t mind. 🙂

This week’s theme: Behind the smile.

My tweets:

Behind the smile, a wealth of tears. Slivers of a broken heart cut deep. The mirror shows a woman she hates to see.

Behind the smile, her heart pounds, her chest is tight, her mouth s dry. She steadies her shaking hands and takes yours. You never know.

You hide behind your smile. No one sees the pain you walk with every day. No one sees the burden you carry. But I do. I see through you.

Don’t close your eyes, you might miss the smile. You might miss a glimpse of what hides behind the fear, the beauty that shines inside.
